What are affirmations?

Affirmations are positive statements you can use to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them daily and believe in them, you will start to make positive changes in your life. 

Loving yourself and thinking optimistically can have a great impact on your body. Our state of mind, thoughts, emotions and attitude towards life are reflected externally. How we feel inside and process our thoughts is reflected in our smile, quality of health, including skin health. 

Whether you’re new to affirmations or you’re a metaphysical pro, it's important to know how your brain communicates to create powerful and effective affirmations. Your brain is a complex network of information, regulating your emotions and always sending and receiving thoughts and commands 24/7. When you say positive affirmations as self-statements, your brain takes everything you say in a very literal way. However, our brain only responds to statements happening in the “now”. This is why your positive affirmations must always be in the present tense.

Getting started

As you start saying positive affirmations to yourself, you might feel awkward at first especially when it has to do with something as sensitive as physical appearance and self-image.
